Falmer Village

Falmer Village is the backdrop for The Great Thatched Barn. A medieval church, traditional English pub, and grand pond thrive in the village. As a result the historic location acts as a prime spot for Falmer Court and the Great Thatched Barn.

The Village pub, ‘The Swan Inn’, is owned by a local family. It serves traditional local ales and some great homemade pub food. The Swan is only a five minute walk from The Great Thatched Barn, so we enjoy heading down there to watch the football or have a bite to eat.

The local people are friendly, therefore the village farm shop and church thrive within the community. Our beautiful local church, St Lawrence church, has services every Sunday morning. St Lawrence’s is situated on the banks of Falmer Lake, a grand lake which dates back to Saxon times.
